CORNELL CLUB FEBRUARY NEWSLETTER

Editor : Adeline Kooi, VP for Programmes

Dear Cornellians,

With Chinese New Year and Valentines' Day just around the corner, the festivities just don't let up!

The Cornell Club has to put together the BIG RED WEEKEND : 22-24 Feb 08 for alumni, family and friends this February. Friday night, the Restaurant Club is chilling out at a gourmet burger joint at Serene Centre. Saturday is for those adventurers out there, when we're having an outing to the Forest Adventure at Bedok Reservoir Park. And on Sunday, we've organized a trip to check out all the new aircrafts, technology and aerobatics at the Singapore Air Show 2008.

You can find out more details about the BIG RED WEEKEND in the newsletter!

Here's wishing all members a Happy and Prosperous Lunar New Year!

Warmest Regards,

The Cornell Club Executive Committee

What you missed in January…

Review by Shawn Tripp, VP Membership

The Cornell Club had a great outing to try out the new Brewerkz Bar and Grill, and then watch the Singapore Slingers vs the Cairns Taipans at the Indoor Stadium. Really tasty pizza and beer was followed by an exciting game that saw the Sligners lead all the way until it mattered, losing a close one at the end.

'Relishing' Gourmet Burgers

After the formal dining of the Chinese New Year and Valentine's, it seems appropriate to just chill out for a burger and beer on a breezy Friday evening.

Join the Restaurant Club at Relish this February where the manager has arranged for us to enjoy their best burgers and gourmet beers at a great price. This burger joint belonging to the same owner of Wild Rocket at Mt Emily and Wild Oats has gotten some rave reviews since its opening barely a few months ago. Are they worthy of the rave reviews? Seems like something Cornell should decide.

A Message from Cornell Athletics :
Cornell Big Red Spirit and Future Special Events

Cornell Athletics recently organized the Cornell vs BU hockey game at the Madison Square Garden. They want to let all Alumni friends and family know that they are planning more of such events in the future.

Because of the overwhelming demand for tickets (some being scalped for as much as ten times the face value), the Athletics Ticket Office has created a priority mailing list that will give you upcoming ticket information on other upcoming exciting athletic events including NCAA Lacrosse, Hockey (Frozen Four) and Basketball Championship tickets.

Feel free to provide your contact information on http://bigred2.athletics.cornell.edu/lynah/bigredfans.htm if you are interested in being contacted.
