Markus Ng (1985-2009)

This morning at around 10:30am, Gabrielle brought to me a news that really way beyond my imagination. A good friend, Markus Ng has just passed away in sleep over the last night. His family found him this morning.

It is a shock to know about it. He is such a young guy. Someone who is of my age group and look perfectly fine. The last time I met him was in the Clinton's lecture, and before that at Kat's Hari Raya open house. He last smsed me, on the eve of Chinese New Year, talking about Ziad and Kat's wedding. Markus was the guy that brought ReCom.org to get involved with UKEC on 1st MSLS.

Markus struck to me as a very sincere friend. Knew him initially online at ReCom.org and over the past few years, have had the opportunities to work with him in several activities and met him in various events. He is always cheerful and fun to hang out with. He is always energetic and positive thinking.

His desire to contribute to country and community is definitely something very laudable. His desire to join civil service and serve the nation, his dedication to serve the community through his involvement with UKEC, CPPS, UNICEF and many other platforms show his selfless personality.

Am very saddened by his passing, especially at such a young age. He is definitely someone that still has a lot of potential to give back to community.

Deepest condolences to Markus's family.

Condolence to family of YB Senator Datuk Lee Sing Chooi

This evening, a news shocked me. Was looking at The Star, and a news struck me.

YB Senator Datuk Lee Sing Chooi has passed away last night due to heart attack. This is definitely a sudden news, and it is a pity that YB Senator Datuk Lee has left the world.

I have had the fortune to cross path with him on several occasions, and in fact, the first MCA leader to call me via phone to get involved was him. He is definitely a very selfless person, just like what YB Dato' Seri Ong Ka Ting mentioned "the people would remember him especially his selfless, tireless and sincere contribution to the MCA and the community".

He has been dedicated in wanting to contribute to the Chinese community and hence he embarked on an effort to do a massive school survey to all Chinese primary schools in the country, and luckily that the output of it was launched in October this year. Hopefully, that the output from the report would be able to be fully utilized, so that we can leverage on the legacy by YB Senator Datuk Lee Sing Chooi.

I would like to express my deepest condolence to the family of YB Senator Datuk Lee. He is definitely an exemplary leader, who is very humble and work very hard. May God bless his soul.

Condolence to Family of En. Rosllan

This morning, Dr. Zahratul, Former Director of Malaysian Students Department, Washington DC, messaged me. And she brought a news that is very sudden. En. Rosllan Ismail, our former MSD officer at Washington DC, has passed away at his home last Sunday. He is just 51, and this is definitely a sudden news.

En. Rosllan, just like other MSD officers, have been very friendly to all of us, and definitely didn't expect him to pass away so early. Still remember him very positive and welcome us whenever we went to Washington DC, or his trip with Dr. Zahratul to visit us at Cornell.

Condolence to En. Rosllan's family. Al Fatihah.
