Looking for volunteers for World Vision's One Life Revolution

Looking for volunteers for World Vision's One Life Revolution (OLR)
-----
hi friends,

One Life Revolution reached over 10,000 lives !!

Due to the overwhelming response, One Life Revolution is embarking on our second leg to 5 more venues in the Klang Valley (2), Penang, Kuantan and Johor Bahru.

One Life Revolution (OLR) is a unique walk through experiential exhibit that's held in Malaysia for the 1st time. OLR lets people 'walk in the shoes' of others who have suffered the plight of social injustice. The life-size exhibit gives people the opportunity to have a direct encounter of someone else’s life as they struggle to cope with HIV/AIDS and living in harsh conditions prone to child trafficking.

OLR is basically a public awareness and advocacy campaign. The exhibit aims to raise awareness, among Malaysians, of the plight of children affected by HIV/AIDS and child trafficking. It is hoped that having 'walked in the shoes' of the children featured, visitors would develop a sense of compassion and be challenged to help those affected in various capacities.

Now we are once again seeking your kind assistance at our 1st venue as stated below:

Venue : Community Excel Services (CES), Dream Centre
2, Jalan 13/1, Seksyen 13, 46200 Petaling Jaya, Selangor

Set up props : 6/7/08 (Sunday - 4pm)

Dismantle props : 13/7/08 (Sunday - 6pm)

Event days : 8/7/08 - 13/7/08 (Tue to Sun), shifts as below

Shifts for 8/7/08 - 13/7/08 (except 11/7/08 & 12/7/08)
a) Shift 1 = 10:00am - 2:30pm

b) Shift 2 = 2:30pm - 7:00pm

Shifts for 11/7/08 & 12/7/08 (Fri & Sat)
a) Shift 1 = 10:00am - 4:00pm

b) Shift 2 = 4:00pm - 10:00pm

* If you are keen to help, kindly respond to this email before 10/06/08 (Tuesday) by filling in your details and also indicating your available date(s) & shift(s) in the attached Excel form.

* Volunteer training is scheduled for 28/6/08 (Saturday) and 5/7/08 (Saturday). You would only need to attend one of the sessions. For new volunteers training is compulsory.
If you've volunteered before and would like to reattend training, you may do so.

Please indicate your available date for training. You will receive a notification by mid-June to confirm your shift(s).

* If you would like to organise a group tour besides volunteering at the exhibit, kindly also respond to this email by providing a contact person's name and number, number of people and date and time of visit, before 12/06/08 (Thursday).

Hope to work with you!!

In another case, if you would like to know more before action, please also get back to me as soon as possible.

Thank you.

World Vision Responds: Myanmar Cyclone

This is another article on World Vision about Myanmar Cyclone.

Hope that my blog readers would be more than willing to show your sincere heart to help the needy ones!

-----

Dear World Vision Donor/Sponsor,

Cyclone Nargis has wreaked major devastation on the Irrawaddy Delta region and Yangon city of Myanmar.
According to state news reports more than 22,000 people were killed and over 1 million have lost their homes. The cyclone is the deadliest natural disaster to hit Myanmar in recent history. The government has declared a state of emergency in five provinces, and has invited World Vision to assist in relief efforts.

World Vision is distributing relief items and has sent assessment teams to the worst hit areas.
