Mathematics Marathon Competition for Form 5 Students

This could be a good opportunity for Form 5 students to boost your credentials, especially during your school holiday. Whether you would want to further your studies in A Level, that could be an additional reward.

Hello there! HELP University College will be holding a Mathematics Marathon on the Dec 20th for students in Form Five or sitting for O-levels this year! Grand prize is THREE FULL SCHOLARSHIPS to study A-levels at HELP! So spread the word around! If you're in Form Five this year, do join and if you're not, tell your juniors to join! It's too good a chance to miss.

Besides the Marathon, there will be exhibitions on higher educational opportunities related to math, educational counseling, etc. Read on for details:

Contest Rules:

Eligibility
Mathematics Marathon is open to
a) Form 5 students from all secondary schools (Government / Private) in Malaysia.
b) O Level students from International schools in Malaysia.

Participation
a) Students must form a team of three players to participate in the competition.
b) There is no limit to the number of teams from each school.

Contest Format
Part I: Player 1 - needs to answer 30 questions based on secondary school’s mathematics syllabus.

Player 2 - needs to finish a set of 3 Sudoku questions.

Player 3 - needs to answer 30 IQ questions.

Note: Players must answer the test one after another; maximum time for each player is 30 minutes.

If player 1 finishes before 30 minutes, the remaining time will be given to player 2 and similarly to player 3.
The best 3 teams will be selected.

Part II: Quizzes will be given to the best 3 teams to determine the 1st, 2nd and 3rd place winners.
No calculator is allowed.
