Trend of Early Decision/Early Action for Ivy League

If you would like to observe the trend of Early Action/Early Decision from 1999 to 2008 for Ivy League, do go to Daily Pennsylvanian to see an interesting chart by Emily Babay. Summary of her highlight:-

1. For UPenn, Early Decision applications grew from 1999 to 2005, when it hit a peak of 4,148 applicants, but it has had 3 consecutive years of drop to 3,610 applicants.
2. For Brown, it seems very high for 1999-2000 (about 5,000 applicants). I'm not sure what happens. But since 2001 to now, it is quite consistent at about 2,000 with marginal increase/decrease in most years.
3. For Columbia, it has gone up consistently over years (except for marginal drop in 2004 and 2005), and as of 2007, it has about 2,500 Early Decision applicants. Statistic for 2008 is not yet available.
4. For Cornell (my alma mater), it has been going up consistently over years (except for marginal drop in 2003. As of 2007, it has about 3,000 Early Decision applicants. Statistic for 2008 is not yet available.
5. For Dartmouth, it is going up most of the years (except for 2001, 2004, 2006). Currently, it has about 1,500 Early Decision applicants.
6. For Yale, it has consistently going up for every year, except for 2006. Currently, it has about 5,000 applicants, and this seems to mean that Yale Early Action attracts the most applicants among all Ivy League!

Thanks Emily for highlighting this data!
