JobStreet.com Employee Confidence Index Dropped for November 2008

Has financial crisis emerged already? How do Malaysians react to our current economic slowdown? Does it affect the job market? Does it affect our job seekers' confidence?

Based on the JobStreet.com Employee Confidence Index for November 2008, it dips to 47.6, from 49.6 in October 2008. This index level is the lowest in the last 2 years, but compared to the Dotcom bust time, currently, the index is still much higher than about 30 during those time.

Some of you might be wondering how is the situation in Singapore. It is not as merry over there. The index has dropped to 43.2 in November 2008, compared to 46.8 in October. Just a few months back, say in July 2008, the index was 53.5, so it has dropped more than 10 points in the last 4 months.
