World Vision Malaysia - Famine 30

I will be joining Famine 30 again this year, although the concept is different now. This would be my 4th Famine 30. Hope you would take part too!

30-Hour Famine is back!!! Do you wish to offer your helping hands to us?

This year we have changed our Famine to a new format where we are giving you the power to run your own very Famine camp.
You can choose to organise your own 26 hours DIY camp and join us for the last 4 hours count down at the National Hockey Stadium, Bukit Jalil.

For more information about the new format and who we are helping this year, you may find the attached Fact Sheet for your perusal.

As you may have known, World Vision is responding to both the Myanmar Cyclone and China Earthquake disasters, our relief team is currently distributing aid to affected victims for both locations, World Vision International Partnership offices are gathering our resources currently to develop a sound relief plan and a re-development plan for the communities being affected.

In Malaysia, we have decided to launch a public fund appeal through our 30-Hour Famine campaign. With a staff strength of merely 20 plus, we foresee that we will face a SOS situation in the month of Jun & Jul to handle phone calls and to process the incoming donations, therefore, we are urgently looking for helpers to help us at our World Vision office and at Sin Chew Headquarter.

Schedule for Office Volunteer/ Part-timer as follows:
- To be stationed at Sin Chew PJ Office for walk in enquiries and registration.
Period: 2 Jun 2008 – 31 Jul 2008 (10am – 6pm, Monday to Saturday)
- Data entry in World Vision Office
Period: 26 May 2008 –   30 Sep 2008 (9am – 5pm)
*Shift rotation is available for office volunteer/part-timer.  For part-timer position, we appreciate that you can commit at least 120 working hours with us.

Besides, we are looking at 500 volunteers to help us during the Famine weekend.

Event Volunteer
- Positions offered are categorised as Registration, Group Leader & Program, and Logistics team. We prefer candidates with leadership and public speaking skills for the Group Leader & Program team.
             Kindly notified us the position that you wish to apply for.
- It is only open to the past 30-Hour Famine volunteers and participants.
- Successful candicate will receive an email notification on 1 Jun 2008 
- Attendance is compulsory for the following events:

Volunteer Training Camp :   9 Aug 2008, Sat, 1pm to 5pm (Venue for training camp - to be confirm)
Set-up Day        :   23 Aug 2008, Sat, divided into 2 categories: 9am to 1pm, 6pm to 10pm
30-Hour Famine Countdown  :   24 Aug 2008, Sun, from 8am to 5pm
