The Draft Kuala Lumpur City Plan 2020

If you have been reading Malaysian newspapers, you would have realized that it is now the period where we can examine and provide suggestions towards The Draft Kuala Lumpur City Plan 2020, in the hope to make Kuala Lumpur - A World Class City.

You can visit the plan here , although it does not put up the full plan there (It should!). You can submit your opinion there too!

For those in KL, you can view it at :-
1. Main Lobby, DBKL Building, Jalan Raja Laut (15th May to 30th June)
2. Lower Ground, Berjaya Times Square (15th May to 15th June)
3. 1st Floor, KL Sentral (15th to 31st May)
4. TTDI Community Center (1st to 16th June)
5. Carrefour Wangsa Maju (16th May to 15th June)
6. Gombak Community Center (Taman Melati) (16th to 30th June)
7. Jaya Jusco, Metroprima Shopping Center, Kepong (15th to 31st May)
8. Menjalara Community Center (1st to 14th June)
9. Tesco Ampang (15th May to 15th June)
10. Bandar Tun Razak Community Center (16th to 30th June)
11. Kampung Kerinchi Community Center (15th May to 3rd June)
12. 1st South Area 2, MidValley (4th to 15th June)
13. Menara DBKL, Bandar Wawasan (15th May to 30th June)

I was scrutinizing the KL Transportation Plan at KL Sentral and some of those info that I got are:-

11 New Rail Network:-

a) KTM Segambut to Plaza Phoenix (future extension to kajang) - 18.4km (16 stations)
b) 1U to Ampang Point - 21.2km (18 stations)
c) KTM Segambut to KL Sentral (Sri Hartamas is covered here) - 16.4km (19 stations)
d) Star Sri Petaling to Sunway - 3.6km (3 stations)
e) STAR Sentul Timur to Gombak - 3.9km (4 stations)
f) STAR Salak Selatan to Taman Cheras (future extension to Hulu Langat) - 5.6km (7 stations)
g) KTM Petaling to Aman Damai (future extension to Bandar Tun Hussien Onn/Kajang) - 13.2km (12 stations)
h) Metro Prima to TAR College (Part of Bandar baru Selayang-Taman Melawati line) - 15.1km (12 stations)
i) KTM Sentul to Pasar Selayang - 9.9km (5 stations)
j) Putra Kg. Baru to Zoo Negara - 9.3km (10 stations)
k) KTM Segambut to Pasar Selayang - 8.4km (4 stations)
l) KL Monorail Titiwangsa to Star Pudu - 6.4km (9 stations)

Those would be the rail transit ready by 2020.

14 Areas of Road Pricing, similar to ERP of Singapore would be at:-
1. Jalan Parlimen
2. Jalan Sultan Ismail
3. Jalan Tuanku Abdul Rahman
4. Jalan Raja Abdullah
5. Jalan Yap Kwan Seng
6. Jalan Ampang
7. Jalan Kia Peng
8. Jalan Bukit Bintang
9. Jalan Pudu
10. Jalan Hang Tuah
11. Jalan Hang Jebat
12. Jalan Petaling
13. Jalan Tun Sambanthan
14. Jalan Raja (I think is this. Somehow I couldn't recognize my handwriting for this one).

Lets play our part as KL Citizen, to view this plan and also submit our opinion/recommendation to them.

One of my suggestion just now, was to have a subline of KL Monorail to go from Bukit Bintang to Pavilion, KL Convention Center and end at KLCC.

Another one is to extend KL Monorail to Bangsar Baru (Jalan Telawi area) and also Bangsar Shopping Center.

You can play your part in submitting your suggestion. Deadline is 30th June.

There will be public hearing to discuss your suggestion and they will actually invite you to explain your recommendation.

Would encourage any of my blog readers to share with me any event that you come across. As long as the event/activity/initiative is education/charity/youth oriented and is not-for-profit, I would be more than happy to post it to share!
