Be 30-Hour Famine 2009 Volunteer!

Hi! Friend of World Vision,

Good news! 30-Hour Famine is coming back!! Join our movement against hunger and poverty. You can make a difference!

This year, camp leaders will run 24-hour DIY Camp at their respective area at West Malaysia. All campers will come together for 6-hour Countdown at Stadium Putra, Bukit Jalil on 23/08/09.  As Camp Leader and campers are fasting, volunteer are required to fast starting from 22/8 12pm to 23/8 6pm. After the training, volunteer can choose to stay overnight at the stadium or go home, and come back the next day for Famine Countdown.  

Be a volunteer for the Countdown! We really appreciate all the helpful and capable volunteers to help making this event a success. Some of the key recruitment criteria that we are looking at for 30-Hour Famine volunteer are:
i)        Have joined 30-Hour Famine before, no problem to fast for 30 hours
ii)        punctual, responsible, alert and friendly

Below are the types of volunteer we are looking for:
a)        Registration- registration of participants.
b)        Booths-  dealing with exhibition, helpdesk and merchandise matters.
c)        Logistics- dealing with traffic, security, venue set-up, clean-up, distribution and program logistics matters.
d)        Program- coordinating stage setting, audio visual, hospitality, planning and execution of program.

Attendance is compulsory for:

Volunteer Training: 22 Aug 2009 (Saturday 12pm – 7pm)

30-Hour Famine Countdown: 23 Aug 2009 (Sunday 12pm to 6pm, report to duty at 9am)

Venue: Putra Indoor Stadium, Bukit Jalil

Volunteers will get:
1)        30-Hour Famine 2009 T-Shirt
2)        Certificate of Appreciation
