Singapore, July 12, 2008 – Bigger, better and even more challenging than the last! BRAND'S^® Sudoku Challenge 2008 will see the final 100 of Singapore's best sudoku puzzlers from more than 7,100 entries, and more than 50 of Asia Pacific's sudoku experts converging in VivoCity, Central Court A & B on Saturday, July 12, 2008 (see Event Details). This is a showdown that cannot be missed! Over $100,000 in cash and prizes is up for grabs!

 

You and your photographer/camera crew are warmly invited to catch the exciting finals of the Singapore Open and the much-anticipated Asia Pacific Open segment. Interviews with the contestants and representatives of BRAND'S can be arranged upon request.

 

Present at the Semi-Finals and Finals will be Mr Eiji Koike, President and CEO, Cerebos Pacific Ltd, Dr Lackana Leelayouthayotin, Executive Vice President & CEO (South East Asia) and Ms. Geetha Balakrishna, General Manager, Cerebos Pacific Ltd (South Asia). BRAND'S^® Ambassador MTV VJ Utt will also be present.

 

BRAND'S^® Sudoku Challenge 2008 began in March 2008. Over 90,000 people responded to the Singapore Open via the BRAND'S^® Sudoku Challenge 2008 website. Preliminaries were held online on STOMP and 1000 of the best challengers were short-listed to compete in the semi-finals. Out of these semi-finalists, only 100 have qualified for the finals.

 

More than 50 of Asia's best Sudoku players will be competing in the Asia Pacific Open. Seven countries, including India, Malaysia, Singapore, Hong Kong, China, Thailand, and the Philippines, have nominated their country's fastest sudoku champions to take part in the inaugural Asia Pacific Open segment. These include the top winners of the BRAND'S^® Sudoku Thailand International Open 2008, Malaysia Sudoku Championship, and BRAND'S^® Sudoku Challenge 2007 Singapore Open.
