The Stanford Club of Singapore and the Financial Women's Association (FWA) are delighted to invite you to the Entrpreneurship Forum at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday, 25 August.

FWA and the Stanford Club have brought together an outstanding panel of new and experienced entrepreneurs who have struck out on their own in fields ranging from retail and media to financial services and software.

Particularly at this time of economic uncertainty, more and more professionals are assessing their priorities and looking at setting up their own companies. Starting up something new seems daunting yet it can also offer tremendous opportunities. This panel session gives you a chance to hear how entrepreneurs decided to set up their own businesses, what worked well and what didn't, and how they're faring in today's difficult times. Moderated by NUS Adjunct Professor Eric Tachibana, the panel features Jeremy Brest of financial services firm Framework Capital, Forrest Li from online gaming company Garena, Deborah Ng of clothing rental store Maternity Exchange, and Joel Lin from the media company Omnimedia that produced Contender Asia.

The range of experiences these participants bring will offer valuable insights that can help you make your own decision about whether and how to leverage your expertise and passion. More information about each of the panelists is on the following page. The panel discussion will be followed by a question-and-answer session, and you'll be able to talk with the panelists as well as fellow participants over light refreshments before and after the event.

If not, how about the idea of staying at the same place as Jodie Foster when she starred in the 1999 international classic "Anna and The King"?

Hosted by Dato Lee Hau Hian (Vice-President, LSE Alumni Malaysian Chapter), the 3-day getaway  provides an escape, a place of refuge and the perfect opportunity to relax, share memories, reconnect with old friends, and make new contacts.  Come join in this special trip to Clearwater Sanctuary Golf Resort which includes a tour of Ipoh!

The Resort

Sanctuary… A word that evokes visions of tranquility, calm, peacefulness and harmony with nature.  An escape, a retreat, a place of refuge. This is the essence of Clearwater Sanctuary.

A regeneration of nature, Clearwater Sanctuary which encompasses over 100 acres, prestigiously transforms the former tin-mining glory of the Kinta Valley into the nation's latest, unique and most breathtaking 27-hole golf resort.

Exceptionally designed by Tim Woolbank of the internationally renowned Australian Golf Management (M) Sdn. Bhd. Clearwater Sanctuary pays tribute to the Scottish charm – the traditional homeland of this ancient game.

Resplendently embraced by 350 acres of shimmering lakes, Clearwater Sanctuary is home to old majestic raintrees, fruit trees, and a veritable menagerie of birds namely the colourful kingfisher, quails, moorhens, storks, hawks and herons, while the lakes teem with a myriad of tropical fishes.

The Raintree Nine and Lakes Nine, acclaimed to be among the most challenging and picturesque course in South East Asia, promises a truly memorable golfing experience. The Wetlands Nine, a unique Par-3 course, is the ideal challenge for those seeking a short but satisfactory game. Juniors and beginners or those who need to sharpen their golfing
skills should try out the Wetlands Nine.

As for your accommodation, it would be in a cosy cluster of waterfront chalets, overlooking lotus-laden sparkling lakes, Sri Damai chalet is the ideal romantic retreat for couples and definitely a holiday destination for a family vacation.
