Thanks to Yvonne Chua, President of Malaysian Students Association at University of Virginia, Charlottesville (UVA) for the info below.

This would be a good info session for those of you who aspire to study at UVA

The University of Virginia, Charlottesville is a public research university located in Charlottesville, Virginia, founded by Thomas Jefferson, the 3rd President of United States of America. Conceived by 1800 and established in 1819, it is the only university in the United States to be designated a World Heritage Site by UNESCO, an honor it shares with nearby Monticello. In the U.S. News & World Report 2010 edition, the undergraduate program at U.Va. ranked #2 (tied with UCLA) out of roughly 200 public universities in the United States and #24 overall in a tie with UCLA (including privates). Most notably, UVa's undergraduate business program at the McIntire School of Commerce is ranked number 1  among US undergraduate business schools by Businessweek (see http://images.businessweek.com/ss/09/02/0226_best_undergrad_bschools/index.htm).

"Founded by Thomas Jefferson in 1819, the University sustains the ideal of developing, through education, leaders who are well-prepared to help shape the future of the nation."
