U Mobile, our latest mobile company, which would launch 3G services in March 2008, has just been injected a USD200 Million investment by Japan's giant of NTT Docomo and South Korea's KT Freetel. It would be a USD100 Million investment by each of these two investors, where each of them would have 16.5% stake in U Mobile.
This would definitely bring upon an interesting fight for our telco market. Currently, with the Norwegian impact in our DiGi and a potential Vodafone purchase of our Celcom, it would be interesting to have this Japanese and Korean involvement.
